Education company promotes from within for president and COO role

OptimaEd, a Naples-based education company that works with online, charter and other schools, foucsuing on a classical education, has named Greg Sapienza president and COO.

Sapienza, with experience in leadership in software, food service and senior living management, will lead OptimaEd’s school expansion initiatives, where, according to a statement, he “will manage daily operations and implement strategic decisions that benefit both the organization and its students.” 

Sapienza joined OptimaEd in March 2022, as chief administrative officer. 

“Greg Sapienza has added so much to our operations over the past year, and we look forward to what he will add with the greater responsibilities of his new role,”  OptimaEd Founder and CEO Erika Donalds says in the release. “His authentic approach to leadership, coupled with his unwavering dedication to fostering growth and engagement, serves as a cornerstone in our commitment to serving our students and the overarching vision of OptimaEd.”

OptimaEd, the release states, has been growing in the U.S. states and making inroads internationally with a model “that aims to train the minds and improve the hearts of young people through a content-rich classical education based on liberal arts and sciences.”

“My goal is to ensure that every student, regardless of background, can access an enriching classical education experience,” says Sapienza in the statement.
